Haven't got it yet, but have ordered a very similar-looking one that has USB and only SD card capacity ($5.20 with free postage). Samsung's genuine accessory kit is $38 (plus postage!) in Australia, so it was attractive. I figure for the money it's worth the gamble on it working. I'll post something when I've tried it. eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

Arrived and works just fine. The only thing is the annoyance of the "bulk" of it sitting on the bottom of the tablet (same issue with the genuine Samsung card reader). I'm also wondering about teh longer term impact of having this lump hanging off the port on the tablet (potential for damage to the port).

Using the standard usb cable with its much smaller connector, a male-to-female usb converter on the end of this, then any generic usb card reader plugged into that would perhaps be a better solution. Would put the "bulk" of the card reader out of the way. Just a thought for those still looking to buy something to consider.

I think you mean F-F USB converter.
Still I dont think it will work...
I used a F-F on the standard cable and tried a USB flash drive...no go.
I dont think it brings out the 5v necessary to power the device without using a device that connects directly to the universal port.

Just a heads up but I bought this one
Samsung Tablet USB & SD Combo Connection galaxy tab 7.0 plus 7.7 8.9 10.1 | eBay

Fast service & cheap but..............SD card slot is wrong.
Does not fit standard camera cards like my Fuji finepix

The USB port works well though

EDIT: Seems the problem is mine
Fujifilm XD cards are slightly....ever so slightly wider than others SD cards
Funny though it fits fine in my acer laptop reader slot
Could be Acer makes a sloppy slot

Note for ioflying... XD cards are not the same as SD cards. Different size, different shape, same function, but only Olympus and Fuji use XD, and the card is a different size and shape than SD.

Be careful... putting the wrong card in the wrong slot may leave you with a repair bill.

Just ordered this from eBay. 3 USB ports and SD card reader. Will post back when it arrives from Hong Kong.
Also if you don't like hub hanging out bottom of your case, here's what I do: take the tab out of the case and turn it upside down. Then hubs at the top.

Update-this just arrived, works great SD card reader plus THREE USB ports.
