    Kindle E-Books

where do e-books for the kindle app reside on the device? I'm trying to manually drop a book that I downloaded from other than Amazon and I don't see the directory. There is a Kindle directory there but it's empty.

    Hi Sarge,

The easiest way to add non Amazon books to your kindle app is to send the e-book to your Kindle app using the email address for your kindle app that you can find in the app settings. You'll probably also have to allow that process in the Kindle account settings within your Amazon account.

Having said that, there is information about the location of Kindle books in the e-reading FAQ linked from my signature.

    All the best

    Kindle Books

Trying to side load a kindle book (*.mobi file), and I can't find the dir where all my books are stored.

Any ideas? A search for *.mobi files turned up nothing.

The Kindle books are stored in a system level folder, not accessible if you are not rooted. I don't thing you could actually side load a Kindle book anyway. That is supposed to keep you from loading books not purchased from their site. However that may not keep you from opening a book, which isn't the same thing.
