email address underlined,how do i get rid of underline

Help!
Just purchased a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and i am new to a touch screen,so,
when i got to the signing in stage i somehow touched underline, so my email address shows an underline symbol and an exclamation symbol, so i cannot sign in and get any further. oh i do hope that makes sense.

Go to settings, accounts,(this assumes you did it at setup and not as an actually mail address in a mail client), then find the account which I suppose is Google and delete it then restart and add the account back.
