Poor Quality of MP4 Video When Transferred to PC

Hi there, I wonder if anyone could give me any advice on this issue - hopefully it is quite a simple one.

I have taken a video on a Galaxy Tab2 7.0. It is about 20 minutes in length and approx. 200MB file size.

The video plays perfectly on the tablet, but when I drag and drop it to the PC and try to play it there (Windows Media Player), it is jumpy and pixelated all the way through (even if I reduce the size of the window, etc.).

Is there a different way of transferring the file which would resolve the issue?

Many thanks for any help you could give me.

    Kind regards

    Welcome to the forum

How did you do the transfer the files? Could you see if VLC player produces the same results?

    Many thanks for helping here.

    I have tried as follows:

    - Windows Media Player - pixelated
    - Quick Time Player - pixelated
    - VLC - absolutely fine

The method of transfer is just via Explorer. I locate the mp4 file in the DCIM folder of the Tablet, File - Copy, then locate a folder on the PC, File - Paste.

Based on the problem observed in WMP, I assume I would have the same issue if converting to a DVD etc.

    Cheers

I don't think converting a DVD would cause the same problem. It would seem to me that the problem lies in the settings you used to take the video and it isn't scaling up properly. 20 minutes and 200 MB sounds like it may be a little light on the resolution.
