Date & Time Keeps Resetting

Sporadically I will either find my tablet off; or on with a different app open, and I discover that the time and date have been reset. It is not left in the time/date settings menu, nor even the general settings menu at all. It keeps setting the time/date to December 31st 2011, at 7pm. It is a strange date to jump to, since I just bought the tablet in July, and obviously have never set the device to that date at all. All I can think of--that has something to do with it--is that it sometimes occurs when I leave my tablet in the back pocket of my pants. I do not sit on it, but perhaps various hard buttons could be hit while I am walking. Is it possible that the tablet is going through a factory reset via the power and/or volume or home buttons? If there are any explanations you may think of that could be causing this strange date/time change, please don't hesitate to let me know... Thanks!

That is very strange. It sounds like it could be a default date, like when the tablet was new and had not been set up. When you set it up how long before it does that again?

It still has yet to stick to any consistent intervals. For example; it has not occurred at all today, but it happened 3-5 times yesterday

I can verify it has nothing to do with button smashing.
my tablet is reletively brand new and hardly moved around at all.
has a hard case and has never been dropped or exposed to high moisture.
its turned off three times in the past three weeks ive had it and reset the date.
it also loves to tell me my headphones are plugged in and ive tried two brand new pairs.
I go to zero shady sites and only use hulu and a couple mobage games for the most part.
