Hdmi galaxy tab 2 10.1 Officially Not Available

Hi, I spoke the Samsung directly.... They have not and do not intend to make a hdmi adapter for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT P 5110. The only way you are able to view on you tv is through a smart hub or smart tv wireless through allsharecast. Thats it no other option...... Off to buy a new telly then!!!! :-( not a happy bunny.

Hi everyone. I'm also having trouble connecting my tablet to the TV. I've read the advice, I've watched the youtube clips and nothing helps. We used the HDMI adaptor to vonnect my brother in law's tablet (also Samsung) to the TV and that worked, but it wouldn't work for mine. It suggests that there might be a setting on the tablet that I need to change, but I really can't think what? If anyone has a suggestion, I'd be really grateful.

hi sheila, sorry but you cant connect a tab2 via an hdmi you have you use allshare wireless connection. Damn nuissense if you ask me and they forget to mention this when you buy the adaptor, also there is no mention of this fact anywhere is there.

Hi it seems that this works for some people and not others.

I have a tab 2 7.0, have you tried it on this device?

Dont want to go spending on the parts in case it doesnt work on mine!

I think the tab 2 7.0 is probably OK as Samsung Support and local Agent agreed, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the 'only' recent model that won't connect) via their HDMI adapter- mine went back to local dealer (who didn't have this info.,despite Samsung rep. present in store) - for refund. Buy from reputable store. Like to know more about allsharecast. Now have Sony Bravia TV (KDL 46W900A) that shows only limited content via free "Sideview" Android app for Samsung, so now looking at mirroring option from TV or Chromecast dongle ...for HD TVs. Web info says ' Chromecast works with devices you already own, including Android smartphones and tablets, iPhones & iPads, Windows and Mac laptops, and Chromebook Pixel. Browse for what to watch, control playback, and adjust volume using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop..' snipped from Chromecast.
