Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Rooted- Stuck in Charging Loop

So I ran my Tab 2 out of battery the other day since I couldn't find my charger. After finding it, I plug it in for a charge.
It then proceeds to boot into the Charging screen (the one with the battery filling up), and promptly turns itself off, rebooting into the same screen.
As far as I've observed it's going to keep doing this forever.

I've tried rebooting into recovery, which doesn't work. Also tried charging from both my PC and mains, with no apparent difference.

I figure it's doing this because it only gets enough charge to reboot and then runs itself out again.

Can somebody help me with this? I REALLY don't want to have to write it off after only having it three months.

    - Try use step 1.
    - If not resolve, try use step 2: In step 2 there will be option to factory reset. Do the factory reset (It will wipe off everything and most likely it will solve the issue).
    - If above/ everything fail, need to follow step 3 and flash firmware using PC odin.

    Keep us posted

I've tried all three steps. None work.
I think the problem here is that it doesn't have any power, and when it charges it gets a bit and then blows it all turning the screen on. Rebooting into recovery won't work because it doesn't have the power to boot at all.

Have you tried with the power cord attached?

I'm not understanding why you can't let it charge while it's off then after an hour or so turn on

And of course, if the device is only 3 months old, you could always contact Samsung for a warranty repair.

Jeffrey: Ive tried it from mains power and USB and neither work.

jwalz: The Tab 2 in question is off. I'm talking about the little battery that shows up on the screen when you plug it in. It shows up, starts filling up then shuts down again since (I presume) it burned all its power starting up and turning the screen on. If there's a way to charge it without having the screen turn on automatically, let me know.

janner43: Doesn't rooting void the warranty nowadays?

The USB does a slow trickle charge. You may want to try leaving plugged into your PC for 2-3 hours. Please note, if you PC goes into sleep mode charging will stop.

I'll try it, but I'm not sure. The Tab was plugged in to mains overnight last night and it still hasn't made any difference.
