    Memory showing full

    Hi,

My Tab 2 shows memory is full which is around 11 GB. However, the break up shows the usage of about 1 GB only. where is the 10 GB being used, how do I free it. Also attaching a screen shot of the displayed message.

    Welcome to the forum

That's a really good question? When/where is it telling you it's full? There is an app called Disk Usage that may help you figure out where the problem is. I would start by restarting your tab. My guess is there is some cache filling something up and that app may help you find it.

Thanks for responding. I have restarted the tab, did not help.
It shows me the message when I go to settings>>storage. I do not even have enough memory to install the app.
the samsung customer care exec (India) suggested that I should reset the tab to factory default, which would mean I lose all data.
I have also posted a screenshot of the message.

    please help.

I think there is only one way out of this & that is to Factory Reset your device from settings.

I would suggest that you back up your files - photos, documents or whatever - to either a microSD card, cloud storage or via wifi / USB to a PC, and then do the Factory Reset. When you have done that, you can simply copy your files back again.

Your Google account remembers all the apps you have loaded & you can reinstall them again without difficulty. Even paid for apps are available to you without buying them again as they are linked to your Google account, not your device.

The whole process from start of backup to reinstall should only take 1-2 hours in total & your device will be like new

    All the best
