Apps vs Widgets; anyone like to pen a few words on the need for both on a 10.1

    Dont understand the difference here

For example I downloaded the bbc news app and I have the app in the apps section and 2 widgets: a list widget and a stack widget.

I download the tapatalk and it generated 3 widgets.
    and so on.
Then there are 3 widgets for the Playstore for yahoo finance and so on
    There at 4 clock widgets
    and so on.

    Thanks

The widgets typically display items that would otherwise require opening the app. Mostly widgets are active and doing something where the apps are dormant until you open them.

    Thanks.
If I remove/delete all the widgets I presume I will extend battery life.
    However:
a: will I impact on performance
    b: can I 'restore' them?

    1, yes
    2, yes.

Fewer active widgets will improve the performance (some) but should have an even greater effect on battery life.

    For what its worth
Virtually none of the widgets are 'un-installable'

The ones that were, eg: Chrome and BBC , nuked the underlying app!

I still have 4 clock widgets, I dont really have time for them

Sorry if I wasn't clear. It isn't necessary to uninstall the app, only to get the widget off your home SCREENS, all of them.
