Go to...
Settings - applications - swipe sideways until you get to ALL
Find the browser app & find the Chrome app
For each app, clear data, clear cache, force close (will probably delete all your bookmarks)
Reboot your device

If the problem persists, install CleanMaster from the Play Store & let it do its thing on the default setting.
Then repeat the above process.
