    Video Player Issues

My galaxy tab 2 got updated a few days ago. Now the video player no longer recognizes any file on the network. It is used to be able to before the update.
    Anybody having similar problems?
Do I have to change any setting?
Which app is best for managing network?

Any help/reply would be really appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum

This sort of glitch happens quite a lot when a firmware update includes a change of OS.

First off, you could try a different video playing app from the Play Store - I recommend MX Player. If you want to stream videos from your network, you could also look at ES File Manager (free from the Play Store) - it has a built in video player.

Finally, I always recommend a backup of your documents, photos etc and then to do a Factory Reset from settings after a significant OS update. It really is worth the time invested in terms of a more stable, slick, fast and robust device thereafter.
