Do any of the streaming sites take advantage of the Tab's FULL SCREEN?

I rented a movie from Android Market. It was letter-boxed.

I watched some Netflix stuff. Same thing.

    What about Samsung Media Hub?

Does it have films that are simply proper dimensions for full screen right off the bat, and don't look all stretched vertically?

Movies that I have downloaded from my PC to watch on the Tab also end up letterboxed - not alot of boxing, but somewhat - and putting the player into full screen just stretches them a little too much. Can't seem to find out how to have a proper screen fit for a movie.

I read somewhere - probably here in this forum - that the great thing about the Tab is it's ability to use ALL the screen real estate for a movie. Really? Haven't been able to do so, yet. Oh, well.

The issue isn't the Tab or the movie apps, it's the format that the movie is packaged as. When you buy or rent a DVD you often have a choice between the original recording format or "full screen". Most streaming media is in the original recording format because that is what most people want.

To use most of the screen one usually has to both zoom and stretch to keep close to the correct aspect ratio.

bill_enh said it right. the only thing I might add is to use MOBO Player (best out there) and use the full screen botton. This said you still might see letter box screen just like Bill explain.

as Bill_enh said this might be due to the way the movie is encoded - me i love letterbox versions as you them the way the scene is shot - moboplayer lets you take a smaller res file and blow it up to fill as much real estate as possible plus it supports subtitles - no issues here - another player i like is MX Video player
