Why Does My Samsung Tab 10.1 Not Play the Video File Type Matroska (MKV)?

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1, but unfortunately I cannot watch the mkv videos, even using the best video players available for android. Could anyone help me, how do I get my tablet to accept this file matroska.

The Galaxy Tab supports WMV, H.264, MPEG4, Xvid, DivX, H.263, etc video codecs. If MKV isn't in one of the supported formats, you'll need to convert it first.

I can confirm that MoboPlayer, MXVideo and VPlayer can indeed play *some* .mkv files. I have run into instances where they cannot, however. Right now I have the second episode of season one of Carnivale on my GTab and no matter what player I use, they all crap out around the nine-minute mark. Might be an issue with the file, though it plays fine on the laptop.

Generally, I rip my DVDs to avi for playback on the GTab. The oddball stuff I have in mkv or other formats I usually convert. I didn't have time to do that with these, though. :\

I get to konw the galaxy tab supported video format. And I agree with Alansky, to convert your MKV files first for your galaxy tab is the easy solution. I've tried to converted some MKV, FLV files to galaxy tab with Brorsoft Video Converter I'm using. Now I can play these videos on my galaxy tab flawlessly without any trouble. You may have it a try.
