    Exclamation Potential issue with screen?

    Good morning!

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy tablet 10.1 from a friend yesterday. I flipped it over at one point to check it out and found that upon flipping the unit back over there was a 'pool' in the center of the LCD display (that is truly the only way to describe it as it sort of looks like a 'pool' of oil under the display!). It does disappear after a few seconds but it seems that any time I press on the center back of the unit this 'pool' reappears. It generally is about 2-3 inches long by about an inch or two high. Have you guys ever heard of this? I am worried that I have a defective unit however, I have not been able to scrounge up any information on this type of issue with these devices. I have an iPad as well and have never seen this kind of problem. Any advice?

    Thank you!

    Ms. Alex Eisch

On touch screen phones made by LG that type of oily pool is a screen separation issue and should be returned/exchanged under warranty. I can't say for sure but it sounds like the same thing and if I'm correct in my memory LG makes the screens for the Tab.

Thank you for the response! Do you think I should return it to Samsung directly?! I bought this from someone I work with who bought it at Best Buy....

    Thanks!

depends on the person. If they are willing to do an exchange at Best Buy I'd go that route. It may require the person you got it from do it and the original receipt will be a must. If not, Samsung may be your only option.
It will not affect how the Tab operates but just ugly to look at, if it's the same thing as LG phones.

I was under the impression that Samsung makes it's own screens

Yes normally and my memory may be faulty here but I thought I read where LG made some because Ipad bought all the samsung ones and they had to farm some out to LG. I do remember I read on ipad forums about Apple basically firing LG from its screen source due to quality issues and that may be where my memory is going wrong. I'll do some Google searches and find out.
    Edit: here is one article.

I have the same issue, but had it sent overseas so I'm stuck with it. It's not that bad though, so not too fussed

Yeah its just the glue holding the touch sensor to the glass not holding fully, shouldn't affect performance at all

Mine had this pool too when I first opened it. I pressed the back panel, twisted the tab from side to side a little, and it went away. Over had my tab for a week and it has not came back yet. I think its moisture build up from being packed in a box for a while. The pool would seem to slide across the screen when I twisted the tab.
