    Loading Google maps / apps

Galaxy 10.1 inch, model GT-P5113TS. I want to download the google maps so I will have them when I need them and when not connected to the internet. This model has WIFI but no type of phone service. There is room for the 2 Gig or more space.
Can I use google maps for this and if so, how do I down load it?

Somewhere on this site I found a how to. It said to start the Google Maps app and hit the “menu” button. That button is not there. The Google Maps loaded is what came with the device. Do I need to download some special app first?
    Thanks for your time

There is a menu, 3 little squares upper right. But there is a problem in that it will only cache a route, not a very large map at all. So actually off-line maps will work but only if you get them using an app from the app store. NavFree will work and WiFi isn't required. Other better ones cost. Sygic is probably the best one or CoPilot

I will go with Gygic or Copilot. I saw both referenced/recommended other places I will google them tomorrow.
