New 10.1 Tab user setting up home streaming from NAS

    Hi Guys

Ok I've got a Synollogy NAS hooked up to my home network and I stream perfectly to my Samsung 55" LED tv
What is the best way to stream meadia to my 10.1 TAB i've downloaded the app for Synology files, can see the files but will not stream to the TAB I'm looking at streaming music and 720p video Wifi .. laptops work great but cant seem to get the 10.1 to work.

Also whats your best movie app to play MKV file format..

    Cheers

What works really well for me is to use ES File Explorer. It will allow you full access to your computer (or NAS) over WiFi. By simply selecting the file you want to stream, it will give you the option to choose which video player you want to use. I've found MX Video Player works excellent, but all of the MP4s I've thrown at the SGT 10.1 native video player work perfectly as well.

    Hi Nebfire

Thanks for your answer, now can see all folders on network.. My streaming performance seems a bit poor tho. Most of my movies on the network are 4 8 or 10GB files in 720 or 1080 HD #
It stutters quite a bit when streaming..

Can you also point a music app to the folder on the network with all my music on and have it collect all the album covers and manage it the same way itunes does?

    Thanks again

You're not going to get iTunes like convenience, just access to your files. However, the WinAmp app may give you more option in this area. It's a great player. I use it on my Droid phone, but have not tried using for anything other than a standard player.

Wowzer! Your video files are huge. I encode my Mp4 full-length movies down to around 1 to 1.5 GB, and they stream with absolutely no problems at all.
