Unable to connect to my own Wifi

I purchased my GT 10.1 a few weeks ago and have been using it without issue until today. It connected to my secured WIFI on initial setup and has had no connectivity issue. I took the device on the road with me this past week and was able to connect to office, hotel, and Gogo Inflight WIFI networks seamlessly. This afternoon I attempted to fire up my GT 10.1 at home, but the device will not connect to my WIFI. The connection is recognized as being available and the tablet attempts to connect to it automatically. However, the device cycles through the connection process(Remembered, then Authenticating) a few times and then disables the connection. Additionally, when first attempting to connect the tablet indicates that the signal strength is Excellent or Good (I'm <25 ft away from the router with an unobstructed view). When the connection is disabled, the tablet then indicates that the signal strength is Poor.

I know that the Wifi connection is working properly as I am able to connect to it from a Windows 7 machine, a Mac Mini and an iPhone. I've even recycled power on the cable modem and the wireless routers. I have the latest firmware on my router (it's a Linksys WRT54G v 5). I have been scouring the internet for solutions that might be related to the Android OS, but have yet to turn up anything of value. I've come here looking for others with similar issues or possible solutions. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Try this go to the wifi settings and long press on the wireless connection and select forget. Then try to reconnect. It will ask you for the wep key/password

Or try a hard reset if that fails

I tried "forgetting" the network as well to no avail. I even tried disabling the SSID broadcast functionality of the router and adding the connection manually with no luck. I'm reaching the point of doing a hard reset, but I'd like to avoid this if at all possible.

After another few hours of troubleshooting I finally gave in and reset the device. Thank god for the online backups The restore only took a few minutes and while everything isn't exactly as I left it, at least it's at an easily recoverable state.

Hi all, new here, but after reading this posting had to add to it. Would this be an issue with the amount of devices accessing the router? or the number of IP address allowed by your carrier? I have 3 kids home and they ALL have wifi devices all over the places. IPODs, cell phones, laptops, desktops, gaming devices....etc, you get the drift I guess. When I use my GT home, I go from "obtaining IP address from" (my router) to "disabled, secured by WEP". I have to disable all the devices before I can get a connection. It's as if I have to be "first" in getting the IP address from my router. Any suggestions out there, it gets "real old" real fast doing this everytime I attempt to connect at home.

Give yourself a static ip address. That will eliminate the whole lease renew, get in line thing.

We had this exact same issue yesterday when I tried to connect to our wifi hotspot. Then hubby tried with his Xoom and same thing. (We mostly use the free wifi here in the marina). He removed the password protection from the hotspot, then the tablets would connect. He later reset the password protection, and lo and behold, this morning, both tablets recognize and pick up the hotspot even with the password protection.

Don't know if this will help you, but may be worth a try.
